THEi and Malaysia Agarwood Company Sign MOU on Joint R&D and Commercialization of Hong Kong TCM Medical Technology
đ Exciting International Partnership Announcements! The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) has been actively participating in collaborations with industries to promote multi-dimensional applied research. Last week, THEi, Dadvance Agarwood Solutions Sdn. Bhd., one of Malaysia’s leading Biotech companies specializing in the agarwood industry, and Filix Medtech Limited, a Hong Kong startup striving to bring value to the Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM) supply chain through traceable and verifiable technology, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote the development of a traceable and verifiable agarwood project. đ
Mr. Yazrin Syakhairi Mahlan, Trade Commissioner of the Consulate General of Malaysia (MATRADE), attended and witnessed the MoU signing ceremony. Mr. Yazrin is happy to promote international cooperation between enterprises in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Greater Bay Area. Through the cooperation of industry, university and research institutes, Malaysian products can go further into the big market with Hong Kong as an international hub of commercial and research.
Prof Alan LAU, President of THEi, said, “Students will participate in research projects to broaden their horizons in medical technology applied in TCM and prepare for their professional development. This is exactly the FUTURE READY that THEi has been practising and advocating.”
